Curriculum
Although we are a Christian school, we provide rigorous instruction using the Common Core Standards for Math and Reading/Language Art instruction. We use Math in Focus (Singapore Math) for grades 3-8 and Reading Wonders textbooks for grades 2-5. We use the Abeka curriculum for Science and Maryland State Curriculum for Art and Music. Science and Social Studies will also be aligned to Common Core. The textbook for Social Studies is TimeLinks for grades K-5. We use the UMI Bible Study program for Biblical instruction. In addition, students have the following Specials: Media, Spanish, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Little Pim is one of our resources for Spanish instruction. We also integrate technology in instruction by utilizing software such as Study Island and ABCMouse, as well as videos that support instruction. In addition, we have partnered with various organizations to provide STEM instruction. Students will have the opportunity to do extended learning in: Video Gaming, Lego Building, Computer Building, and Flight Simulation.
